My Counterfeit Kit…and lots of Videos!

Hello Hello!

So this month (February) I played along with The Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog…not the challenges necessarily, just created a stash kit and got to killing it!

I have gotten 3 layouts done so far…but since I use my stash kit each month till the 15th/16th of each month, I will make plenty more..

Here is a video showing my kit and explaining my “stash management” routine-

And here are the 3 layouts (and coordinating process videos) I’ve created so far…

And, last…but certainly NOT least…

The Counterfeit Challenge Blog is a great resource for creating a stash kit each month and helping you to use up what you have! I keep a relatively small stash and I use my stash kits each month to help move through the things I buy…..

Have A Lovely Day!

Digital Fun With Jess Crafts Digital Stamps

Hello Hello! I have a fun card to share with you today from the  Jess Crafts Digi Store.

I chose to work with the Wonderous Whale Digital Stamp this week. I just love this cutey patootie whale and the fun sentiments that come along with him. I pulled one of the sentiments in to my Silhouette Studio software and created a cut file for my sentiment..

Then I got to work on my whale! I used some Distress Inks to lightly color him up, backed him with some fun foam, and replaced his digi- bandage with a “real” bandage using some Twill Tape from my stash. some ink “splashes”, some enamel dots, and a few embellishments from Crate Paper Poolside collection and I have a cute card to brighten someone’s day!

Be sure to check out this cute digi-stamp as well as all the fun stamps in the store!

Yearly Journaling for your kiddos- A “favorites” list…

Hello Hello! Yesterday, I was up at The Crafty Maven Getaway You Tube Channel with a fun Scraplift Saturday video!

In the video I described how I have a favorites list I use to create a page for each of my boys every year to show how their interests change from year to yer. It is a little hard to read the “Favorites List” in the photo of my layout…especially since I hand-wrote it. 🙂 And some expressed interest in seeing the list I use so I thought I would share the layout, video and the “Favorites List” here sor easy reference!

Here is the video-

And the layout-

dsc_4703

I love this favorites list because it is easy…and I have boys that don’t want to answer mom’s silly questions for her scrapbook pages…but even at 16, I was able to ask my son what’s your favorite… and he answered them, without even really realizing what he was doing in less then 8 minutes!…Score one for Mom!

Favorites List-

  • favorite food
  • favorite drink
  • favorite color
  • favorite book
  • favorite animal
  • favorite TV show
  • favorite thing to do with mom
  • favorite thing to do with dad
  • favorite toy (and yes, even at 16, my son just answered me…lol! )

So, there is my list. I’ve been doig this list since my oldest was 5 for both of my boys and it is a really fun to look back on. I like doing it when my kids are halfway through thier year at that age (for example, 16 1/2) because they are firmly that age and you get a better idea of thier interest…in my opinion anyway!)

Have A Lovely Day!

Digital Stamp Fun With Jess Crafts Digitals

Hello Hello! I have another Digital stamp project to share with you today using these ADORABLE new Hippo images that are being released TODAY over at Jess Crafts Digital Stamp Shop and since today is release day, you can get this stamp for just $1.00.

I decided that I felt like water-coloring this time so I created two cards with water-colored backgrounds.

One of the hippos I colored with Distress Ink in Hickory Smoke and the second hippo I applied clear gesso  over the image and water-colored him too! I had fun just playing with paints and cute hippos to create these cards!
