It’s December 1st! You know what that means…cold, snowy weather, frosty days, hot chocolate…Nope!
It’s time for the monthly blog hop with the Spiegelmom Scraps Sparklers! Both squads come together on the first of the month to share new projects, new sequin mixes are released, and by commenting along the way, you have a chance to win some sparkley goodness of your very own!
Jody did not disappoint this month! Did you see all the new, gorgeous, amazing sequin mixes! They are beautiful! And there are free cut files too! So much fun! If you haven’t already, be sure to go and hop through all the blogs and check them out! You should be hopping here from Khristina’s blog, she is my scrappy partner in crime on a couple design teams and video collaborations…Love her!
For my layout this month, let’s talk boys…teenage boys. Grungy, icky, teenage boys…I have one and promise they are all those things…as well as kind, sweet, and at 6 foot 2 1/2 inches, very useful when you can’t reach things. But I digress…
I wanted to use the music-themed free cut file this month and I knew I had the perfect photos for them. My son plays guitar…a lot. He saved all his allowance and odd job money and bought an Epiphone Les Paul guitar..if you are a guitar person, you know what that is, if not, it’s a really nice guitar…lol.
We had a 2 hour drive home after he bought his guitar and the whole way home he sat in the backseat, strumming his guitar….definitely a story to tell…
I decided to use the brand new Evergreen Bough sequins and went stash diving for some supplies that were grungy, and teenage boy appropriate. My purchasing has been cut way, way back since I am staying home with my boys right now…so off to the stash! I discovered that the awesome Crate Paper line Boys Rule had the green and orangy colors I was looking for as well as the grungy feel and off I went creating…
I used this guitar I cut with some wood veneer paper and jazzed it up with some enamel dots, thread, and sequins. If you watch the For The Love of Homemade Kits videos I do on You Tube, then this guitar should look familiar… 🙂
I cut the music files in mint green and navy …they cut perfectly! And I love how they turned out!
I placed the Evergreen Bough sequins in messy clusters and after some more stash diving I found some flair from a flair for buttons that worked perfectly.
Some splatters of white Dylusions and my grungy, rock and roll, teenage boy layout was done!
Be sure to hop along and visit everyone’s amazing projects. Next stop is Katty’s blog…and Im sure she has a gorgeous layout to share!
Here is the whole line-up in case you get lost-
Be sure to leave a comment all along the way for a chance to win a store credit to the shop!
Have A Lovely Day!
