Clique Kits Blog Hop

Hello! Welcome to my blog!

I’m so glad you decided to hop along with us today!

My name is Sara Mishler- otherwise known as Sara Scraps around the interwebs.

I have not 1,not 2, but FOUR layouts to share with you using the Clique Kits Northern Lights kit and add-ons! I hope you like them as much as I do. As soon as I saw this kit I knew it would be perfect to document my youngest son’s love of lapidary..otherwise known as a huge rock and mineral collection, and tumbling said rocks to make them smooth and shiny for jewelry..

Then, since I started documenting some of my son’s favorite things, I would continue the trend with a photo of my youngest room…showcasing all his favorite things and creating a layout about him right now..

My last layout uses some of the fun PL cards that were an add-on this month, created by Melissa Goble and featuring a photo I took that I just love!

I hope you enjoyed my projects today!

Hello! I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend! So this is a little different post- it is a Design Team entry to Honeybee Stamps! I am so excited to be able to showcase some projects and a video showing you some amazing things you can do with these stamps! They are truly one of my absolute favorite stamp companies! The owner, Melissa, is one of the sweetest people I have had the privilege of interacting with online and I hope that you will check out this stamp company. You can find their website HERE

And here are the projects I created for my Design Team Submission-

And The Winner..

…of the set of handmade cards is Kristen Teti! Kristen is the women who introduced me to scrapbooking 14 years ago and is still one of my dearest and most supportive friends.

Kristen- I have all your vital info. I will send your cards out next week.

I will be back on Monday…I’m off on a scrappy adventure till then!

Have A Great Rest Of The Week!

Monday’s Are A Good Day…

….to play in your stash! This layout uses no new products, just lots of stash-busting products. I used a stencil I bought a year…or two…ago, an MME line that I have decided I am going to use up and get out of my paper tower this weekend, lots of my fun Distress Inks to jazz up the background, and some..wait for it….yes, those are chicken wood veneers…I think I may have bought them for this exact page actually…I have pigs, cows, horses, and goats too..let me know if you need those…lol!

I started with some text background paper with no name on it…and then I put almost every brown, tea, linen color of Distress Ink I had through my chicken wire stencil. ( The stencil is from Memory Box.) I added some touches of red and grey with the MME paper and some Simple Stories washi strips. I colored the chicken wood veneer with Hedi Swapp Color Shine in Tea and the Farm Fresh wood veneer with some Lawn Fawn dye ink in Lobster. Some light journaling about my “aunt’s” chickens (she technically isn’t my aunt) some tea colored splatter and enamel dots finish off this layout!

Enjoy your Monday…you know, as much as you can enjoy a Monday..See you on Wednesday with our giveaway winner!

Blog Kick -Off Post #3 – Paper Bows

I love bows..they are so pretty. Bows are a little hard to pull off on boy pages, true, but on cards they are lovely…and since my boys love bow ties, I have managed to sneak in a few on their pages too. 🙂

Our family is FINALLY  feeling better! And I think 3 blog posts a week is going to be what I will strive for on this blog..3 seems manageable…and if I can get 3 done with all of us sick, should be easy, peasy, lemon squeezey on a good week! But I digress…back to the bows…

DSC_3012-001

These are the bows I like. Ones I can make all by myself with minimal supplies and I can make them in any color or width I choose to. Anyone can make them- they are that easy! And unlike the bows in most embellishment packs, they aren’t bulky in your scrapbook pages or cards unless you want them to be. (With pop dots or foam or cute little gems for the center, see….totally versatile!)

I hope you will check out my You Tube channel for a short little video on how I create these adorable bows-Super Simple Paper Bows  (PSSST! There is a giveaway this week on my YT channel too!)

And don’t forget to leave a comment on this post –GIVEAWAY! for a chance to win some fun handmade kindness from me!

Have A Lovely Rest of Your Weekend…go make a few bows, maybe??

Blog Kick-Off- Post #1 and Giveaway!

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a fabulous NSD. I played along with a challenge or two at 4 different crops! I completed 7 challenges total- I wanted to complete 10 but that’s okay..I am a super slow scrapper so 7 is good for me! I will shoot a video and have an NSD Layout Round-Up here on my blog in the coming days. I thought it would be fun to get into the habit of using my blog by posting everyday this week and by hosting a giveaway . Be sure to pop back in all week for lots of fun things!

For the giveaway, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post. You can leave me a comment about anything you like..I would love if you shared a link to your favorite layout you made during NSD but anything kind is appreciated and will count for the giveaway.

I have chosen something unique as my giveaway. Someone who I really enjoy and learn from in the scrappy community is Jennifer McGuire. And something she is very passionate about is sharing her creations with others. So for this giveaway, I will be gifting one random commenter with this set of 5 handmade cards I created along with 5 handmade envelopes (not pictured) so you can send a note to anyone you like.

Here are the cards-

I hope you enjoy this giveaway! I will keep it open till Monday, May 16th and I will post the winner on my blog Tuesday, May 17th!
